Inspired by Christian Dior's statement, "I have designed flower women," Dior's new creative director, Raf Simons, debuted his collection in five connecting salons draped in floor-to-ceiling floral tapestries. Blue delphinias, white orchids, peonies, dahlias and roses created a breathtaking installation that merged flowers, architecture and fashion.
The installation was a skillful production similar to the production of the clothes themselves. One hundred and fifty people worked over several days to cut, sort and assemble the floral masterpiece. This chaotic behind the scenes fashion show video stars flowers unlike typical behind the scene videos that focus on the fashion. According to the house of Dior, their similarities are endless.
